Born in Skowhegan, Maine. I discovered my love for photography in my teens when my Uncle Ronnie St. Peter shared his old twin lens reflex with me. After graduating from Unity College, I moved to Machias on the Maine Coast. It was there, in th early 1990's, that I chose to begin my career in photogrpahy, opening Snap Shot Photo Express, the areas first one hour photo lab. Quickly, I discoverd my desire to photograph people. I expanded my business by opening a portrait studio above my photo lab. Beginning by photographing many individuals and families in the area, I naturally developed the skill of documenting people in their element.
I originally named my business Farrin Photography. Recently, in honor of my love for shooting photos up an down the coast of Maine, I renamed my business Coastal Maine Photography.
My spontaneity and intuition has assited me along the way. I've become adept at capturing individuals uniqueness, moods and special moments as they occur. My photojouranlistic eye and sense of timing has earned me the respect of clients and collegues alike.
Traveling abroad to various places around this vast and wonderful planet on one-on-one adventures with my children, I realize I am indeed a world citizen. Although I love shooting images in Maine, I am more than happy to go on location, to just about anywhere in the world, to document cultural events, political actions or a wedding. Feel free to contact me to discuss the possibilities.
I shoot from the heart, I shoot what moves me!
